Music at Emmanuel
Our choir is a vital part of the life and worship of our congregation. Director Kelly Evanson is a highly trained musician who brings out the best in her dedicated singers. Our Organist is Pam Rossing, a hospital chaplain, and a wonderful pianist as well as talented organist.
There are several opportunities for group Bible study at Emmanuel. ON Bible Study has been meeting monthly for more than 30 years! There is also Bible study in our Women’s Circles.
Presbyterian Women of the Congregation sponsor the Christmas Coffee Hour, Fall Bazaar, and other activities which are open to all women. They’re an amazing group of servant leaders whose fundraising contributes to the programs and facilities of Emmanuel. Ask about their bean soup mix they sell, a favorite of many.
Our quilters meet most Tuesday mornings, have lunch, and work until early afternoon. Their efforts are sold throughout the year, and at the PWC Fall Bazaar. Funds are designated for various programs at Emmanuel, and the community.
Parent / Teacher Co-op Preschool
Sponsored through Spokane Falls Community College, the Northwest Parent Co-op meets three mornings a week during the school year, with teachers providing a stimulating preschool experience to young children and their parents.
Emmanuel is host to Agape, a non-profit group that provides program, lunch, and fellowship twice a week to seniors, mostly Korean “grandmas.” The group is open to all seniors who wish to join in. They sing, do crafts, play bingo, exercise, and have a great time together. Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels provides a nutritious lunch, and Korean food is served on special occasions by the Agape staff.
